The Wilden community is located in the north of Glenmore. This is the largest planned community between Vancouver and Calgary.

Wilden is a 10-minute drive from downtown Kelowna, and the location of the innate hillside provides it with unspeakable views of Lake Okanagan. In line with the development concept of focusing on the natural environment, the design of the community focuses on maximizing the natural area. Almost 1500 acres of land have retained the original landform, leaving wetlands, park green spaces and wild species. It is difficult to find a second place. A few minutes walk in the community is a forest path that maintains the natural appearance. It can not only have the convenience of the city, but also enjoy the peace and beauty given by nature.

On February 15, 2018, residents of Wilden and the surrounding area gathered together to contribute their outlook on the development prospects of the Wilden community. The collected submissions indicate that the top priority is the “parks and walkways”, followed by the protection of the natural environment, including wetlands, wildlife and plank roads; at the same time, everyone also believes that commercial areas should also be included in the future Development Plan.

After referring to the opinions of residents, Wilden announced the following development plans to everyone

1) Wilden Plaza
Wilden Square aims to provide everyone with a community gathering place, where there will be outdoor markets and cultural activities. The plaza will also incorporate protection of nature and ecology. Imagine stepped ladders, tassel fountains, boardwalks, all of which are cleverly integrated into the square.

2) Future Elementary School
New elementary schools will be built in the Wilden community! The Ministry of Education approved the application of SchoolDistrict 23 in March of this year. Not only that, but also will build a supporting sports ground and The Commons community park. The community park is planned to be planted with native trees and has a rainwater bioremediation pathway connecting Wilden Pond and Hidden Lake.

3) Wilden Village Neighbourhood
In the past, Wilden was mainly a single family house-based community. In the future development plan, Wilden plans to build more townhouses and apartments, and it is expected to increase the number of units by 20%. The location of Wilden Village will be east of Union Road and west of Forest Ridge.
